He received his Bachelor of Music degree from Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin, went to graduate school at the New Mexico State University, and received a post-baccalaureate degree in Music Education from the University of Texas at El Paso. He is a professional musician who also loves hobbies of woodworking and various sports.
