With 19 contest categories covering a wide range of disciplines, PSIA is an exciting opportunity for private school students in grades 1 through 8 to engage in academic competition with their peers throughout the state of Texas.
The academic competitive programs of Private Schools Interscholastic Association (PSIA) primarily motivate students to:
- find new excitement in learning
- achieve a higher mastery level
- receive recognition /awards for academic excellence
PSIA programs are designed to support the basic academic curriculum. Contests are easily implemented into daily studies, and participation in academic meets serves to enrich skills.
Cathedral School of Saint Mary is a member of the PSIA - District 3A for the 2009-2010 School Year.
The District 3A meet will be hosted by Immanuel Lutheran School in Giddings, Texas on Friday, February 26, 2010.

2010 P.S.I.A. News...It's time to begin PSIA preparations. Statistical research has shown that students who participate in academic extracurricular activities score higher on achievement and assessment tests than those who do not participate in such academic programs. We also have found that participants whose parents are actively involved in working with their children in extracurricular academic programs have the greatest success in competition, as well as in their future academic studies. Our district meet this year will be held at Immanuel Lutheran School in Giddings on Friday, February 26. Now is the time to begin studying for your time to shine. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Robert LeGros at 476-480 ext. 314 or by email at rlegros@smcaustin.org.
