Welcome back to the 2010-2011 school year. The schedule for library classes is as follows:
Tuesday - Pre4 and 6th grade
Wednesday- 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades
Thursday- Kinder. and 7th grade
Friday- PreK3, 2nd and 8th grades
All library books are checked out for one week. They may be renewed two times unless they are for a class project with prior arrangements with the subject area teachers. All students are responsible for returning books in the same shape as they were checked out. If your child damages or loses a book, they will be responsible for the replacement fee. Overdue fines are 5 cents a day. Please help your child return their books on time.
PreK 3 and 4 do not check out books but come for storytime. Kindergarten students may check out one book a week and 1st-8th may check out two books at a time.
Book Fair News
Our next book fair will be January 30,2010 from 3-5pm. Next week, February 1-5, will be 8-4:30pm. Volunteers are desperately needed during all times of the day, especially from 3-4pm. If you can help at any time, please send Mrs. O'Dwyer an email at jodwyer@smcaustin.org. Help is also needed this Friday, January 29 at 10:30 to set up the books and on Friday, Feb. 5 from 4:30-5:15 to repack the books. Please try and help out. Thanks.

Box Top Drawings
Next drawings will be on Thursday and Friday mornings on January 28 and 29. . Bring 10 box tops in an envelope or small ziploc bag with your name on it and give it to your teacher or me. They are due no later than Wednesday, January 27th.
Pizza Hut Certificates
Third-sixth graders need to read 2 books a month and take a test on the computer for Reading Counts in order to receive their Pizza Hut certificate. Those students who read and pass their tests all 6 months of the program will be invited to an ice cream sundae party in April.
