Cathedral School of Saint Mary staff are available for private tours.  Touring our school gives potential families the opportunity to see our school grounds and classroom first hand.  Tour hours are Monday - Friday, 8am-3pm.  If this does not fit your schedule, please call the office and we will find a time that will work.

Here you will find information about what is going on in your child's classroom (events, homework, test dates, etc.), as well as school wide events (calendar and lunch menu). While this system is still very new to us we continue to improve and fine tune the content. We appreciate your patience.

MISSION

Cathedral School of Saint Mary enriches students spiritually, academically and socially by fostering a diverse community through, with and in the teachings of Jesus Christ.

PHILOSOPHY

As Christian educators we, jointly with each parent, share the privilege and responsibility of facilitating the growth of the whole child. Through our religious and academic program, we help to form the spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical development of every student entrusted to us.

ACCREDITATION

The Cathedral School of Saint Mary is accredited by the Texas Catholic Education Department, which is recognized by the Commissioner of Education for the purposes of accrediting Catholic Schools in the State of Texas.

HISTORY

The rich history of our school parallels with the history of Austin, a history that stretches from the beginnings of state through the bleak years of the Depression and World War II, to the boom of the late twentieth century, when the Austin metropolitan area reached a population of a million. The unique history of the many generations who have attended Cathedral School of Saint Mary is present on our campus. While the building, curriculum, and faculty have changed over the last 144 years, the values we seek to instill in our students remain the same. The Sisters of the Holy Cross order concentrated on the three R's and Catholic Church teachings in order to guide young lives in the path of Christ. Today, lay faculty members emphasize the same traditional values in order to accomplish the same goals: Christian formation and academic success.

**SPECIAL NOTICE CONCERNING TUITION**
In order to provide parents and guardians with the most current information and pricing regarding tuition, the administration is realigning the “Tuition Lock-In Rate” date with the events and activities of Catholic Schools Week the final week of January 2012. Additional information will be released as we near Catholic Schools Week.

Special Events

Christmas Around the World

Join Cathedral School of Saint Mary in downtown Austin for our first "Christmas Around the World" celebration Friday, December 9  from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. in the Donahue Center. Get your passport and prepare to ‘travel’ to ten countries to learn about traditional Christmas celebrations. We will have entertainment on the stage in the gym, and tables in the cafeteria for displays of information about each group’s country plus goodies to eat.  Admission is a love offering or a non-perishable item for the benefit of the needy through St. Vincent de Paul Society.  Come celebrate Christmas in a variety of languages in the heart of Austin, one block south of the Capitol at 910 San Jacinto Street.  For more information, contact the school at 476-1480.
